Few airlines are operating flights from abroad to Krabi International Airport (KBV) since Krabi reopened its doors to international tourists who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 without the mandatory quarantine under Krabi Test & Go (Exemption from Quarantine) and Krabi Sandbox scheme.

Krabi, a coastal province at the Andaman Sea, is a popular beach destination in Southern ThailandKrabi province abounds with plenty of natural attractions including over 150 islands, gorgeous white sand beaches, turquoise water, flourishing coral reefs, towering limestone cliffs, numerous caves and waterfalls, making the scenery of the province both inland and at sea simply stunning.

As per Krabi Test & Go and Krabi Sandbox conditions, you are eligible to fly to Krabi and get an exemption from quarantine if you have been fully vaccinated. Instead of being quarantined at the AQ hotel, you are allowed to roam the entire area. However, you must stay at SHA Extra Plus Hotel before traveling to other areas of Thailand.

Krabi International Flights 2022

The list of international flights to Krabi as of February 2022 is the following:

Regarding the S7 airline, on 23 February 2022 Krabi Province welcomed the inaugural flight of S7 Airlines, which opened route from Novosibirsk city of Russia to Krabi, Thailand. The flight was operated by an Airbus A321nx with 164 passengers, mostly family travelers coming from many cities across Russia. 

Since 1st of February Russian tourists can enter Krabi in both Test and Go and Sandbox programs, giving them more flexible travel options than ever before. According to Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Krabi province is an outstanding attraction with sandy beaches, beautiful seaside, various dive sites, delicious seafood and quality hotels that match the preferences of Russian tourists. It is believed that more Russian tourists will come to Thailand by choosing to fly directly from Russia to Krabi. 

Flights will be operated once a week on Wednesdays starting from 23 February during the winter time through March. The flight departs Novosibirsk at 00:15 and arrives in Krabi at 08:15 local time. The return flight also departs on Wednesday at 9:40 and lands at Tolmachevo airport at 17:35.

 

International Flights to Krabi

If you wish to travel to Thailand on one of the above-mentioned flights, you need to contact the airlines directly to see if they can accommodate you. There should be more airlines adding flights to Krabi later, so check the airline websites to confirm about Krabi  flight availability and for the most up to date information.


How to Transit from Bangkok to Krabi?

In normal times, most domestic airlines operated multiple flights per day between Krabi and Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and other main destinations in Thailand.

However, currently all travelers from abroad must travel on direct international flights to Krabi. Transiting via Bangkok might be possible in the future when Thailand gradually reopens more pilot destinations to fully vaccinated international travelers.

Book Flights to Krabi

It is recommended to book flights to Krabi directly with the airlines. The cost of tickets to Krabi depends on the season, the city of departure, the airline and the availability of seats. You should check for flight tickets and book them well in advance as you need to prepare all supporting documents before your departure date.

All travelers to Thailand must obtain the Thailand Pass. You should also carefully check all the details about entry requirements and mandatory documents for entering Thailand via Krabi Sandbox or Krabi Test & Go.

What you need to present at airlines check-in counter and upon arrival in Thailand?

Please note that having plane tickets does not guarantee entry to Thailand, as travelers must have all the required documents to enter Thailand. You need to provide the following documents at the check-in counter:

  1. Thailand Pass 
  2. Confirmation of SHA Extra Plus hotel or quarantine facility booking
  3. Confirmation of paid RT-PCR tests
  4. COVID-19-Free Health Certificate, with a laboratory output indicating that COVID-19 is not detected (COVID test must be done by RT-PCR method), issued within 72 hours before departure (not required from 1 April 2022)
  5. Health Insurance Policy with the coverage of medical treatment in Thailand, in the minimum amount of 20,000 USD or equivalent. You can find more information here: COVID-19 Insurance for Traveling to Thailand
  6. Visa / re-entry permit or to be eligible for Visa Exemption
