Madame Tussauds is the most famous wax museum in the world. One of them was opened in Bangkok. This was our first visit to Madame Tussauds and new experience of visiting museums of this kind in general. As we were really not aware of what can be expected at Madame Tussauds, except of getting few photos with wax figures of celebrities, we were a bit surprised of what this museum has to offer.
After getting your ticket at the counter and entering the premises of Madame Tussauds, just at the entrance of the exhibition you will be offered to have your photos taken with the tuk-tuk taxi by the staff. Be aware that nothing comes for free at Madame Tussauds and these photos will be offered for you to purchase in various forms at the end of the tour. Of course, there will be additional charges and they won’t be low. However, you won’t be forced to buy anything in case you don’t like it. If you’re totally not interested in things like this, just skip it.

Impression
Some of the wax figures at Madame Tussauds Bangkok look realistic and quite alive, like the one of Vin Diesel.
However, Wayne Rooney or a popular Thai boxer Khaosai Galaxy didn't look as real as it could be expected. Some of them were outdated as the President Obama still rules the house here.
We were not familiar with some of wax figures at Madame Tussauds Bangkok but there are boards with the name and short description of the person so you can easily expand your knowledge. However, there are a number of local celebrities that might be not known for foreigners.
The photo opportunities at Madame Tussauds Bangkok are provided in such a way that you can interact with the celebrities, you can actually touch them. There are also fun activities all around the museum as you can shoot a basketball with Yao Ming, play golf with Tiger Woods, paint with Picasso or take a quiz with Albert Einstein.
These activities will keep you and your kids entertained!
They even provide costumes and accessories for your creative picture shots.
Waxworks
At the end of exhibition, there is a gallery of waxworks showing the process of making wax sculptures. It was really interesting and quite extraordinary.
Here you will meet the real deal - Madame Tussauds (Anna Marie Tussauds) with her sculptures.
There is a counter where you can get a wax casting of your own hand or even holding hands of you and your partner. It’s a nice souvenir to bring back home.
4D Cinema
The last part of the visit is 4D cinema which was a great experience. It was a 9-minute short “Ice Age” film of the adventure of Scrat, the sabre-toothed squirrel. During the movie, you will enjoy unexpected features such as light water splashes, shaken seats, air shoots out and the snowflakes falling down, all of them making the ice age atmosphere so realistic.
Our Experience
We were pleasantly impressed by our experience at Madame Tussauds Bangkok. As we were not familiar with the conception of the museum, we thought that it will be more like an ordinary museum with the exhibits (wax figures) being displayed under glass and explored only from the distance. But it turned out to be more than just a wax museum. We enjoyed following the trail through all the different themed rooms. We were able to get so close to the waxworks and have fun taking pictures in many poses with our favorite characters. The whole attraction is very enjoyable.
We would definitely recommend Madame Tussauds Bangkok for the fans of celebrities, movie stars or athletes. If you are selfie-addicted or just love posting photos on social media, this place is a paradise. For Madame Tussauds first-timers, the museum in Bangkok is a good choice. This place offers a family-friendly experience and people of all ages can enjoy their time here.
If you are not into that kind of entertainment and not a big fan of anyone in the list, the museum might be not worth visiting as your experience here completely depends on your ability to entertain yourself.
The visit at Madame Tussauds Bangkok can take about 1 or 1.5 hours depending on the number of people visiting at the same time and the length of your stops to take pictures in each section.

Adult 990 Baht
