100 Year Ban Mai Market (using the name of Ban Mai Subdistrict) is the market located along the Bang Pakong River. It is a famous antique market in Chachoengsao province that shouldn't be missed when visiting the province. It is the place where you will see the old houses and waterfront community as well as will enjoy shopping for local good and eating lots of delicious food.

100 Year Ban Mai Market Location
The market is located on Suphakij Road, along Bang Pakong River.
There’s a temple called Wat Thep Nimit on the opposite side of the road from the market. As it is a waterfront market, people can reach the market both by land and water. In front of the market, there is a road that goes straight to Bang Nam Priao District. Even if you have no private car, reaching the market is convenient as you can take songtaew from bus station or train station to the market (yellow/white songtaew route Bus Station - Baan Mai).
The easiest way to get there from Bangkok is to take this Khlong Khuean Shri Ganesh Park & 100-Year-Old Ban Mai Market. On this tour, you will also visit the 16-meter statue of Lord Ganesh in a peaceful park setting as well as other important temples in the area.
Atmosphere at 100 Year Ban Mai Market
100 Year Ban Mai Market has a genuine retro atmosphere because it is set up in an ancient Thai-Chinese community that has been in existence for more than 100 years. The market is not like floating markets in the central region where vendors are selling stuff from the boat can be seen. The stalls here are set up on land alongside the path running between rows of wooden houses adjacent to each other in a small community. The market is mostly visited by locals and not so many tourists can be spotted here, that gives the market more authentic feel.
100 Year Ban Mai Market is a small market as the length of it is just 200 - 300 meters. The charm here is a truly ancient market and the traditional waterfront community. This area overall is still being well preserved. It is believed that the market community has existed since the reign of King Rama III and has been the main commercial center along the waterway routes.
Food at 100 Year Ban Mai Market
It is not a big market but the market is still full of different local dishes and snacks. As generally locals go there, the prices are indeed lower and you don't need to be worried about being charged tourist prices at all.
The recommended dishes at 100 Year Ban Mai Market are Pad Thai and Pak Mor Noodle, which is the soup of steamed rice dumplings with many fillings such as pork, taro, corn, tofu, and vegetables.
There are plenty of restaurants along the bank of the Bang Pakong River for those who want to sit and eat good food at the riverside, where you can easily spend few hours.
