Raksawarin Hot Springs and Public Park is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Ranong. It is located 2 km away from Ranong town. You can go there with public songtaew from Ranong Central market for 20 baht. There is no admission fee.
There are 3 natural hot springs in the same area with a high temperature of 65 degrees Celsius. These hot springs contain many important minerals and they are the only hot springs in Thailand that don’t contain sulfur at all. The water here is considered pure as it has no smell of sulfur making it possible to drink the water directly from the hot springs.
We soaked our feet in the pond. The water was really hot and it took time to dip down all the feet. The local people, who were all very nice and interesting to talk to, regularly came to introduce us how to adjust the body temperature in hot water. Soaking in the hot spring here is a really nice and interesting experience.
There are bathing facilities offering their services for the visitors as well as a hot floor complex and gym in the park.
The hot floor complex has hot springs bellowed so the heat is spread throughout the complex at an appropriate temperature. Some people use this area for yoga or reading a book, others just like falling asleep on hot floor. You can feel how comfortable it is. However, spending time here should not exceed 30 minutes because it can cause excessive sweating.
There is a hanging wooden bridge letting you to enjoy beautiful nature near the hot spring. It is also a nice spot for taking some photos.
After spending some time relaxing at Raksawarin Hot Springs and Public Park, we walked back to take a bus at Ranong Bus Station which is just 2 km away.
