There are few pottery villages around Ko Kret and visiting one of the pottery villages on the island near Bangkok is truly worth it.
We have visited the Pottery Village No. 1 and really enjoyed our time there. The Pottery Village No. 1 is located near Wat Phai Lom and is a kind of factory where they are producing hundreds of potteries by using traditional techniques.
As we walked into the factory, the village potters welcomed us and we were able to see how the pottery is made. All products are made by hand and painted by natural colors. The potters here have really high skills to produce many kinds of pottery products such as sculptures, cups, bowls, plates, vases, and pots.
The pottery village in Ko Kret is always open for you to wander around. If you are lucky enough, you will get a chance to make a pottery by yourself and take it back as a special gift from the village.
There is a market nearby the pottery village. At the market you can buy many pottery products for souvenirs or gifts from Ko Kret. All shops there seemed to be selling the same style of pottery.
The good thing is that no one was pushing to make a sale and that was nice.
Visiting the pottery village in Ko Kret is really a nice experience and you shouldn't miss it when visiting Bangkok.
