Wat Na Phra Men or Wat Na Phra Meru is an ancient temple in Ayutthaya, built in the early Ayutthaya period.
It is located along the canal. The temple is still in the good condition because the ordination hall (the Ubosot) was not destroyed when Ayutthaya was defeated by Burmese troops in 1767.
This temple contains four old Buddha images.
This is Chiang Sen Buddha, aged more than 700 years.
Behind the Ubosot, there is the image of the 'White Buddha', aged more than 500 years.
Main Buddha Image at Wat Na Phramen is "Phra Buddha Nimitr Vichit Maramoli Sisanpeth Boromtrailokanat", with a width of approximately 4.40 m and height of 6 m. It was constructed of metal and completely covered with gold leaves. The Buddha wears the Royal Attire, typical for the late period of Ayutthaya.
The Buddha image called "Phra Khantharat" or Phra Sri Ariamet Trai is in the small vihara. It is believed to be made in the Dvaravati style. The height of the image is 5.20 m. It’s 1 of 5 seated Buddha images in Thailand which are well preserved.
