Experience of Taking Dalat Cable Car

Dalat Cable Car is located a bit out of the city center, at the beginning of Prenn Pass. From Dalat City center it takes less than 10 minutes by car as the distance is only about 3 km. We came to Robin Hill Cable Car Station by taxi which was very convenient.

Once we arrived at the Dalat Cable Car Station, we could see the cable car cabins going up and down and the whole flower city could be seen from the distance. We walked up to the ticket counter but the staff informed us that it was closed for system maintenance and we have to come back later.

Dalat City

On the ground floor of the station, there are few small souvenir shops where you can buy fresh products and local specialties. There is also a hot-pot restaurant on the top floor. We ended up taking photos around the area and just walked to the café nearby.

It turned out to be GreenHills Café which is one of the most famous locations for photography in Dalat. There is an entrance fee of 100,000 VND, but you get a drink for this amount. This café even has an instructor to show you how to take beautiful pictures.

The café is small but there are many corners where you can take impressive photos, especially Bali Dalat Heaven Gate. This was a perfect place to wait for the cable car to start running.

Once you get on the cabin of cable car, you will experience the adventurous feeling of floating in the sky. The cable car is small and can accommodate only 2-4 people.

At one point the wind was rather strong and our cable car was quite seriously shaken. It was a bit scary but exciting and fun.

For us it was a fascinating ride but for people with a sensitive stomach it might be a challenge as we’ve seen one girl leaving her breakfast in the garbage bin right after the ride.

After reaching the arrival station, you can walk to Truc Lam Zen Monastery. This place is the famous Buddhist Zen temple with ancient buildings, impressive structures and beautiful natural surroundings.

Truc Lam Zen Monastery

Truc Lam Zen Monastery is really a peaceful place. The garden of the monastery is one of the favorite stops for tourists to take photos. There is Tuyen Lam Lake nearby but we couldn’t reach it as the sign stated that it was closed for sightseeing.
