Phu Quoc Airport
Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) is located in Duong To Commune, Phu Quoc District, Kien Giang Province. The airport is located in the southern part of Phu Quoc Island, about 15 km south of Duong Dong Town center. Phu Quoc Airport is one of the smaller airports in Vietnam but it serves more than 3 million passengers per year.
Currently, there are many local airlines offering daily trips to the island such as Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines and VietJet Air. The airport also receives international flights from Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, also seasonal flights from China, Cambodia, Italy, Norway, England, Russia, etc.
The airport is designed to serve domestic and international passengers. There are 36 check-in counters available for passengers. International terminal is located in the eastern half and the western half is occupied by domestic terminal.
Phu Quoc Airport to Duong Dong / Hotel

Phu Quoc Airport Bus
Taking Phu Quoc Airport Bus is the cheapest way for getting from Phu Quoc Airport to Duong Dong Town and some other areas on the island. However, the bus network on the island is very limited at the moment so Phu Quoc Airport bus might not be reaching your accommodation.
VinBus Electric Bus
Phu Quoc Airport Bus is a public bus service currently offered by VinBus company. Introduced in 2023, this bus is a perfect choice for travelers who want to experience the combination of exploring nature and cultural history and the life of the local people while on the way from the airport. Phu Quoc Airport bus brings convenience and can also save lots of travel costs during your journey.
There are currently 2 Phu Quoc Airport bus routes operating on the island and they let you travel from Phu Quoc Airport to Duong Dong Town and even reach as far as Grand World Phu Quoc in the northwest of the island and InterContinental Phu Quoc Resort in the southern part of the island. However, if you won't be staying on these bus routes, taking Phu Quoc Airport Bus might be not the best choice.
To take Phu Quoc Airport Bus, you just need to exit the airport building and wait for the bus there.
Phu Quoc bus 17 is the main Phu Quoc Airport bus route as it starts at the airport and goes all the way to Grand World Phu Quoc. Bus 17 can be used if you are staying at the hotel north of the airport on the western coast of the island. This Phu Quoc Airport bus route passes Duong Dong town and some of the best beaches in Phu Quoc, such as Bai Truong Beach, Ba Keo Beach, Ong Lang Beach, Cua Can Beach, Vung Bau Beach, and ends at Grand World Phu Quoc near Bai Dai Beach.
If you will choose to stay at one of the popular Bai Dai Beach hotels such as Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc, Vinpearl Resort & Spa Phu Quoc or Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, there will be a free shuttle transportation taking you from the final bus stop of the route to your accommodation.
According to the published schedule, Phu Quoc bus 17 is operating from 05:10 to 02:20, with departures from the terminal points of the route scheduled every 10-20 minutes for most of the day, except late night and early morning, when buses run every 50-60 minutes. The first bus from the airport departs at 05:10. The length of the journey from Phu Quoc Airport to Grand World should take about 65 minutes.
Phu Quoc bus 19 is another Phu Quoc Airport bus route that is mainly useful if you are staying at the hotel south of the airport. Bus 19 goes from Grand World Phu Quoc to InterContinental Phu Quoc Resort in the southern part of the island and one the way makes a stop at Phu Quoc Airport. The part of the route between Phu Quoc Airport and Grand World is identical to the route of Bus 17 so you can take any of these buses when going north. However, Phu Quoc bus 19 becomes handy if you are staying at hotels such as SOL by Meliá Phu Quoc, Muong Thanh Luxury Phu Quoc Hotel, Novotel Phu Quoc Resort, Pullman Phu Quoc Beach Resort and, of course, InterContinental Phu Quoc Resort that are all located south of the airport.
Depending on the location of your hotel, when taking Bus 19 make sure that is going to the right direction - Grand World (north from the airport) or InterContinental (south from the airport).
Phu Quoc bus 19 is by far less frequent than Bus 17 so you should take into consideration that you might need to wait long for the bus to arrive. According to the published schedule, Phu Quoc bus 19 is operating from 06:10 to midnight, with only 10 departures scheduled one way. The length of the journey from InterContinental to Grand World should take about 75 minutes.
Phu Quoc Airport Bus by VinBus currently (January 2024) is offered free of charge but it should be temporary.
Airlines Airport Bus
In addition to using the public bus of Phu Quoc, you can also take the airlines bus. Jetstar Pacific is the domestic airlines that operates flights to and from Phu Quoc and is also serving the bus route from the airport the city center and vice versa. Jetstar bus from/to Phu Quoc Airport is running according to the flight schedule of Jetstar Airlines.
You can buy a bus ticket right on the plane when the flight is about to land at Phu Quoc Airport and get on the bus about 30 minutes after the flight arrives. The bus ticket price is 40,000 VND per person.
Phu Quoc Airport Taxi
Phu Quoc Airport Taxi is also a very popular mean of transportation for getting from Phu Quoc Airport to the hotel. For getting from Phu Quoc Airport to Duong Dong or your hotel / resort, taking airport taxi is the right choice when you want to travel quickly and conveniently.
However, Phu Quoc taxis are quite expensive as the Phu Quoc taxi price is about 17,000 VND per km. The taxi fare for a trip from Phu Quoc Airport to Duong Dong center can be about 140,000 - 200,000 VND for a one-way trip, depending on the distance you travel. There is also an additional 10,000 VND airport surcharge that you need to pay when exiting the airport.
Despite the relatively high price, taxis are still the first choice of many tourists. If you travel as a group of people or carry bulk luggage and have no pre-arranged transportation, taking a taxi might be the best option. Phu Quoc Motorbike Taxi
Taking a motorbike taxi is also possible at Phu Quoc Airport. If you are traveling alone with just a backpack, the choice of motorbike taxi can save you money.
