There are many places to celebrate Loy Krathong Festival in Bangkok. Some of the most popular places for floating krathongs in the city are its public parks with ponds. On Friday, 15 November 2024, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will allow the public to celebrate Loy Krathong Festival in 34 Bangkok public parks from 05:00 until midnight.
People are asked to only use krathongs made from natural materials or easily biodegradable materials, such as banana stalks and banana leaves, to preserve the environment.
It is also expected people to follow the "1 family 1 krathong" policy, to reduce the amount of krathong waste during Loy Krathong Festival.
In addition, for safety, it is strictly forbidden to light, release and sell sky lanterns, rockets, lanterns, smoke lanterns, firecrackers, fireworks, including krathongs, products, food and alcoholic beverages in public parks.
For the most memorable Loy Krathong in Bangkok, get on a special dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River. During such a dinner cruise, you will experience the beauty of the Bangkok waterfront and see famous landmarks of the city illuminated at night while enjoying a gourmet dinner. While on cruise, you will also get a chance to float your krathong right in the middle of the Chao Phraya River.
