To continue their trip by public transportation to other areas of the city, passengers can change lines at Airport Rail Link Makkasan Station to access the MRT Phetchaburi Station.
Makkasan to Phetchaburi Station
It is very convenient to transfer from Airport Rail Link station Makkasan to Phetchaburi MRT Station.
Airport Link Makkasan Station
Once you arrived at Airport Link Makkasan Station, go down by escalator or elevator. Take an exit gate. You should head to Exit 2 of Makkasan Station.
If you are not sure about the way, just follow the crowd because almost everyone who drops off at Airport Rail Link Makkasan Station will transfer to MRT Phetchaburi Station.
However, make sure that you go to the right direction. You can do it by checking the information board at Airport Link Makkasan Station.
Otherwise just follow the signs leading to MRT Phetchaburi Station as they are very clear and easily visible from the distance. They are set all along the way so it would be difficult to get lost.
There are a number of cafés at Makkasan Station so you can grab a cup of delicious and inexpensive coffee or some breakfast box before heading to MRT Phetchaburi Station.
To get Thai Baht at Airport Rail Link Makkasan Station, you can use one of ATMs found at the station. However, money exchange at Suvarnabhumi Airport before boarding the train is a better option as you can get really competitive exchange rates right next to Airport Rail Link Suvarnabhumi Station.
There's also a lock box for storing your luggage if you wish to continue your trip around the city lightly. If you don't want to limit your travel options for a trip back to the airport with departure from Makkasan station, better leave your baggage at Bangkok Airport Luggage Storage.
To simplify things when traveling on Bangkok city train systems such as BTS SkyTrain and MRT Yellow or Pink Line, consider getting Bangkok Rabbit Card as with it you won't need to queue up and buy separate tickets for each ride. Even if this card can't be used on Airport Rail Link or MRT Blue Line, it's still worth it in most cases as BTS lines are used most frequently for exploring the city.
Skywalk between Makkasan and Phetchaburi
You have to take the 166-metre long skywalk connecting Airport Rail Link Makkasan station with MRT Phetchaburi station. It will only take about 5-8 minutes of walking between the stations.
At the end of the skywalk, just before the entrance to MRT Phetchaburi Station, you will find one more café and a big self-service storage for leaving your luggage.

Phetchaburi MRT to Makkasan Airport Link
The trip in the opposite direction is also very popular as taking metro to Phetchaburi MRT station and transferring to Makkasan Airport Link station is one of the fastest and cheapest ways for getting to Suvarnabhumi Airport from the city center. While the length of the first part of the trip by MRT depends on where on MRT Blue Line you are staying, the journey from Makkasan station to airport takes just a bit more than 20 minutes.

MRT Phetchaburi Station
If you're connecting in the opposite way from MRT Metro Phetchaburi Station to Airport Rail Link Makkasan Station, leave MRT station through Exit 1.
The skyway to Airport Rail Link will be on your left when you get out from MRT station to the street. Go up by escalator and follow the signs leading to ARL Makkasan station.
The journey by Airport Rail Link from Makkasan Station to Suvarnabhumi Airport takes only 22 minutes and is the fastest way for getting to the airport from this area.
For getting from Makkasan station to the airport, make sure to choose the correct platform by following the signs leading to "Suvarnabhumi Airport" and not to "Phaya Thai".
