Khanom Alua is a traditional Thai dessert which is made of wheat flour, coconut milk and sugar. The word ‘Alua’ means ‘charming ’. This dessert is crispy outside but sticky and sweet inside. Khanom Alua is usually made in small colorful pieces, usually colored in green, pink, yellow and white.
Khanom Alua Ingredients
1/2 cup all purpose flour or cake flour
1 cup coconut milk or condensed milk
1 cup sugar
Food coloring

How to cook Khanom Alua
1. In a non-stick pan, mix all ingredients together until sugar dissolves completely.

2. Cook over low heat and stir the mixture until it is thickened.

3. Separate the mixture for coloring.


4. Drop the mixture.

5. Dry the dessert by putting the pieces directly to sunlight for 3 days or until they are hard outside but tender inside.
