Thailand visa for Indians is not required for short term visit to Thailand. If you are a citizen of India and hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival to Thailand, from 15 July 2024 you can visit Thailand on a Free Visa Exemption as long as your planned stay in Thailand doesn't exceed 60 days.

Thailand Visa Exemption for Indians
Starting from 15 July 2024, citizens of India can stay in Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days if arriving at the airport. When entering Thailand through the land border crossings from Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia or Malaysia, Indians can get a free visa-exempt stay for 60 days too but the number of times you can use visa exemption when crossing by land during the year is limited.
As a citizen of India you can use Thailand visa exemption if you have the following:
- Indian citizen passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival
- A return or onward travel ticket within 60 days.
- Valid QR code of the submitted Thailand Digital Arrival Card (mandatory from 1 May 2025)
- A proof of funds - at least 20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family in cash (equivalent in any currency)

Thailand Tourist Visa for Indians
If you're an Indian resident with a passport not eligible for Thailand Visa Exemption, you should get another type of Thailand Visa in advance. As a tourist, you mainly have two Thailand Visa options to choose from - Single-Entry Tourist Visa or Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa.
You can apply for Thailand Visa at Thai Embassy in India (located in New Delhi) or at Thai Consulate in Mumbai, Chennai or Kolkata. Thailand single-entry tourist visa for Indians applying at the embassy or consulate costs 2,500 INR.
Starting from 1 January 2025, all Thai embassies and consulates, including the ones located in India, use Thailand E-Visa system to process all visa applications.
Thai Single-Entry Tourist Visa for Indians
Single-Entry Tourist Visa is valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The period of stay is 60 days maximum (starting from the day you enter Thailand). Thai Single-Entry Tourist Visa can be applied for at Thai embassies and consulates worldwide, so for Indian residents it's not mandatory to apply for Thai visa in India. However, you need to provide evidence that you are currently located in the jurisdiction of the chosen embassy or consulate.
When applying for Thai Single-Entry Tourist Visa in India you will need:
- Biodata page of passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival.
- Thai Visa Application Form that is now filled online via Thailand E-Visa website.
- Passport-type photo taken within the last 6 months.
- Document indicating current location.
- Visa fee - 2,500 INR when applying in India (check for offline payment options at the chosen embassy or consulate).
- Evidence of permanent residence in India (non-Indian passport holder)
- Confirmed air tickets in and out of Thailand
- Evidence of confirmed hotel/accommodation reservation in Thailand. If you haven’t booked your accommodation yet, book your hotel on Booking.com or Agoda.
- Original Bank Passbook or Bank statement (six months) (must be attested by the bank) having a minimum balance equivalent to 700 USD.
Thailand visa for Indians can also be issued by Thai Embassies and Thai Consulates in other countries, such as Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, etc. However, you must provide evidence that your current location is in the specific country, and you need to stay in that country until the visa is issued.
Thailand Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa for Indians
Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa is valid for entering Thailand within 6 months from the date of application. The period of stay is 60 days maximum per stay. You may enter Thailand again as long as the visa is still valid. Indians can apply for Thailand Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa only at Thai Embassy or Consulate in India. Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa for Indians costs 12,500 INR.
When applying for Thai Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa you will need:
- Biodata page of passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival.
- Thai Visa Application Form that is now filled online via Thailand E-Visa website.
- Passport-type photo taken within the last 6 months.
- Document indicating current location.
- Visa fee - 12,500 INR when applying in India (check for offline payment options at the chosen embassy or consulate).
- Evidence of permanent residence in India (non-Indian passport holder).
- Confirmed air tickets in and out of Thailand for the first trip.
- Itinerary or plan of other trips to Thailand.
- Evidence of confirmed hotel/accommodation reservation in Thailand for the first trip. If you haven’t booked your accommodation yet, book your hotel on Booking.com or Agoda.
- Original Bank Passbook or Bank statement under applicant's name (must be attested by the bank) showing a minimum balance equivalent to 500,000 INR for at least 6 consecutive months.
- Copy of PAN card and Indian income tax return of the latest assessment year.
- Proof of occupation.
Where Indians should apply for Thailand visa?
Indians must apply for Thailand visa at the respective Royal Thai Embassy and Consulate-Generals in India, where they are currently located. The jurisdiction of each mission is as follows:
