Thailand visa for UAE citizens is not required for short term visit to Thailand. If you're a citizen of United Arab Emirates and hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival to Thailand, you can visit Thailand on a Free Visa Exemption as long as your planned stay in Thailand doesn't exceed 60 days.

Thailand Visa Exemption for UAE Citizens
Starting from 15 July 2024, citizens of United Arab Emirates can stay in Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days if arriving at the airport. When entering Thailand through the land border crossings from Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia or Malaysia, UAE citizens can get a free visa-exempt stay for 60 days too but the number of times you can use visa exemption when crossing by land during the year is limited.
As a citizen of United Arab Emirates you can use Thailand Free Visa-Exempt Stay if you have the following:
- UAE citizen passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival
- A return or onward travel ticket within 60 days
- A valid QR code of submitted Thailand Digital Arrival Card (mandatory from 1 May 2025)
- A proof of funds - at least 20,000 THB per person and 40,000 THB per family in cash (equivalent in any currency)

Thailand Tourist Visa for UAE Residents
Depending on the duration and purpose of your visit, you might need to get another type of Thailand Visa in advance. As a tourist, you mainly have two Thailand visa options to choose from - Single-Entry Tourist Visa or Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa.
In United Arab Emirates you can apply for Thailand visa at Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi or Royal Thai Consulate General in Dubai.
Starting from 1 January 2025, all Thai embassies and consulates, including the ones located in the UAE, use Thailand E-Visa system to process all visa applications.
Thai Single-Entry Tourist Visa for UAE Residents
Single-Entry Tourist Visa is valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The period of stay is 60 days maximum (starting from the day you enter Thailand). Thai Single-Entry Tourist Visa can be applied for at Thai embassies or consulates worldwide so for UAE citizens it's not mandatory to apply for Thai visa in United Arab Emirates.
When applying for Thai Single-Entry Tourist Visa in UAE you will need:
- Biodata page of passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival.
- Thai Visa Application Form that is now filled online via Thailand E-Visa website.
- Passport-type photo taken within the last 6 months.
- Document indicating current location - copy of UAE Residence Visa or ID Card.
- Confirmed airline ticket for both trips.
- Proof of accommodation - confirmed hotel booking for the period of stay in Thailand. Book your hotel on Booking.com or Agoda as bookings on these online platforms are usually accepted with no problem.
- Visa fee - 400 AED when applying in UAE.
Thailand visa for citizens of United Arab Emirates can also be issued by Thai Embassies and Thai Consulates in other countries, such as Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia etc. However, you must provide evidence that your current location is in the specific country, and you need to stay in that country until the visa is issued.
Thailand Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa for UAE Residents
Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa is valid for entering Thailand within 6 months from the date of application. The period of stay is 60 days maximum per stay. You may enter Thailand again as long as the visa is still valid. UAE citizens can apply for Thailand Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa only at Thai Embassy or Consulate in United Arab Emirates.
When applying for Thai Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa you will need:
- Biodata page of passport valid for at least 6 months from the day of your arrival.
- Thai Visa Application Form that is now filled online via Thailand E-Visa website.
- Passport-type photo taken within the last 6 months.
- Document indicating current location - copy of UAE Residence Visa or ID Card.
- Confirmed airline ticket for both trips for the first time of travel.
- Proof of accommodation - confirmed hotel booking for the first period of stay in Thailand. Book your hotel on Booking.com or Agoda as bookings on these online platforms are usually accepted with no problem.
- Visa fee - 1,000 AED.
Tips
