Taxi is the preferred mean of transportation in Mui Ne for many tourists as there are several taxi companies in Phan Thiet and they are often passing by the resort area. Several taxi companies operate in Phan Thiet but the best known and the most reliable of them is Mai Linh, which is one of most reputable taxi companies in Vietnam.
Another Vietnamese taxi company that is trusted by many people is Vinasun and they started operating in Phan Thiet in 2017.
Like everywhere in Vietnam, in Mui Ne is also better to take a taxi of the reputable company like Mai Linh to lower the chance of possible extra costs. Mui Ne Taxi Fare
Taxi fare should be clearly displayed on the side of the car. If the taxi you are planning to take doesn’t have one, better skip it for not getting into trouble.
Mai Linh Binh Thuan is the company operating in Binh Thuan Province, including Mui Ne. Their green-colored cars are easy to notice in the resort town. Mui Ne taxi fare charged by the local Mai Linh during our last visit in Vietnam was the following:
- First 0.5 km – 5,000 VND (~0.22 USD) for 0.5 km
- From 0.6 km to 30 km – 12,500 VND (~0.54 USD) for 1 km
- From 31 km and above – 10,500 VND (~0.46 USD) for 1 km
However, the taxi fare depends on the type of the car as for larger vehicles the fare is higher.
Taxi fare in Mui Ne is really affordable but don’t forget that even if the resort area has only one street, the road is quite long and the total fare might be not that little.
Several examples of taxi fares on the most popular routes in Mui Ne:
from Phan Thiet Railway Station to the hotel in Mui Ne (distance about 20-30 km) taxi fare should be around 250,000-375,000 VND (~10-16 USD);

Public Transportation
At least at the daytime, there is another way for traveling around Mui Ne as instead of taking a taxi you can jump on one of public buses running on the main seaside road.
Mui Ne Bus No. 1 and Mui Ne Bus No. 9 let you reach not only Mui Ne Fishing Village but also Red Sand Dunes and beaches in the area around Suoi Nuoc Resort. These public buses can also be used when traveling from Phan Thiet City to Mui Ne or vice versa.
