Another option is taking Bangkok MRT to Hua Lamphong Station and getting to the River City Pier from there on a short taxi or tuk-tuk ride. For the ultimate convenience, stay at the nearby Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel.
Suphakarn Shopping Center Pier is another departure point that is used on New Year's Eve due to the unavailability of ICONSIAM Pier. To get there, you need to take BTS to Saphan Taksin Station and then to cross the river. For getting to Wat Kanlayanamit Woramahawihan, which is the full name of Wat Kanlaya temple, you can take MRT Blue Line to Sanam Chai Station and then cross the river by a ferry operating between Pak Khlong Talad (Flower Market) and Wat Kanlayanamit.
