999 Bus vs. Roong Reuang Coach
As the new governmental 999 Bus is an alternative to the currently operating Roong Reuang Coach, when deciding on which bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya is the most suitable for your travel plan, you should consider the following:
- Departure schedule
- Drop-off point in Pattaya
- Ticket price
The timetable of Roong Reuang Coach bus departures is much more extensive, as their buses leave from BKK Airport to Pattaya every hour from 06:00 to 22:00. As the 999 Bus only has 4 bus departures a day (at least for the start), you might need to wait much longer for the next departure and won't be able to take it after 17:30 (the last bus departure).
The convenience of the drop-off point in Pattaya depends on the location of your hotel in Pattaya. Roong Reuang Coach bus brings passengers from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Jomtien Bus Station, so it's more convenient if you are staying in Jomtien Beach or South Pattaya. As there are several bus stops of the 999 Bus on Sukhumvit Road, they might be more convenient for travelers who stay in Central Pattaya or North Pattaya.
If the departure schedule and drop-off points are equally convenient, you might prefer 999 Bus, as its ticket price is lower than the bus fare of Roong Reuang Coach.

If you are staying in one of Bangkok's best areas that are not really close to the airport, you don't need to go to Suvarnabhumi Airport to take a bus to Pattaya from there. There are plenty of options for getting to the seaside city from different areas of Bangkok.
