Saen Saep Canal Electric Boat Service

Saen Saep Canal Electric Boat is a public transportation service in Bangkok. Opened in 2022 by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, together with the Marine Department, with the intention of the development of public transportation vehicles using electric power technology, this electric passenger boat service is provided on the Saen Saep Canal as the extension of the well-established Khlong Saen Saep Boat service.

The company operates 12 electric boats, each with 40 seats. Saen Saep Canal Electric Boat is providing the transportation service from Wat Sriboonreung Pier to Khet Minburi Pier (Minburi District Office Pier). A total distance of the route is 10.50 km, with 12 piers along the route. At the end of 2024, the number of the piers served by the electric boat was increased.

At Wat Sriboonreung Pier, you can transfer to another Bangkok canal boat route, which is over 18 kilometers long and passes many shopping spots and attractions such as Central World, Pratunam, Nana, MBK, before ending at Wat Saket in the historical area of Bangkok.

In case you want to explore the canals of Bangkok but the experience of squeezing into the boat with crowds of locals doesn't seem tempting, hop on a typical Thai long-tail boat to explore the Bangkok Yai Canal in Thonburi on this Bangkok Canal tour. During this 2-hour canal adventure, you will explore life on and around the klongs (canals) and get a glimpse of how the local people live.

Bangkok Canal Electric Boat Route

The route of the canal electric boat service in Bangkok consists of two parts:

1. The side of Wat Sriboonreung: The part of the boat service running from the Wat Sriboonreung Pier in Ramkhamhaeng area to Pratunam Bangchan Pier.

2. The side of Minburi: The part of the boat service running from the Minburi District Office Pier to Pratunam Bangchan Pier.

If you want to travel the whole route, you must change boats at Pratunam Bangchan Pier, which takes approximately 5 minutes.

The electric boat is quite slow, so the journey from one end of the route to the other end normally takes about 60 minutes.
