Cat Ba Cable Car Route
The cable car is located in Haiphong and running between Cat Hai Station on Cat Hai Island and Phu Long Station on Cat Ba Island. When traveling on this route, you can enjoy the panoramic view from the cable care instead of traveling between the islands on Cat Ba Ferry or speedboat.
The cable car is operated by Sun World, the company group that is also operating Ba Na Hills cable car in Da Nang, Fansipan cable car in Sapa, and Hon Thom cable car in Phu Quoc.
Cat Hai Station

Cat Ba Cable Car Tickets
Cable car tickets can be purchased at one of the cable car stations or booked online.
When booking online, you don’t need to pick up a ticket from the ticket counter, as you are getting a QR code that can be used for a direct entry to the cable car.
Cat Ba Cable Car Ticket Price 2024
The cable car ticket price was adjusted recently and after reopening is much more attractive than previously. The cable car ticket price in 2024 is the following:
Adult* - 50,000 VND for a one-way ticket
* Children with a height of 100 cm and above are charged the same rate as adults
Children (height of 99 cm or below) – Free

Cat Ba Cable Car Timetable
The cable car is operating Monday to Sunday. Current cable car timetable is the following (valid from 17.04.2024 until further notice):
Morning operating hours:
- 09:00 – 09:15
- 10:00 – 10:15
- 11:00 – 11:15
Afternoon operating hours:
- 13:30 – 13:45
- 14:30 – 14:45
- 15:30 – 15:45
How to get to Cat Ba Cable Car Station
The cable car is located quite far from the main cities, but there are at least a couple of options for getting to its stations.
Haiphong to Cat Hai Station
The easiest way for getting to the cable car station in Cat Hai is taking a taxi or booking Grab for a trip from Haiphong City or Cat Bi Airport (HPH). Depending on where in the city you are, such a trip should cost around 250,000-350,000 VND.
Another option is taking Haiphong Bus 16C, which is going all the way from Thuong Ly Bus Terminal to Cat Hai Station and passes the center of Haiphong City on the way. The bus ticket price is only 15,000 VND. From Thuong Ly Bus Terminal, bus departures are schedule from 05:00 to 18:00, while from Dong Bai Ferry Terminal, which is located nearby the cable car station, buses depart from 06:00 to 19:20. Bus departures are scheduled every 30-45 minutes. As there are quite many stops on the way, it can take around 1.5 hours to get from the city center to the cable car station by bus.
Cat Ba Town to Phu Long Station
For getting from Cat Ba Town to Phu Long Station, you can also take a taxi. The price for such a trip can be around 300,000-350,000 VND.
More affordable option is taking Cat Ba Bus 14, which is going all the way from Cat Ba Town to Cai Vieng Ferry Terminal and makes a stop at the cable car station. The bus ticket price is only 13,000 VND. From Cat Ba Town, bus departures are schedule from 05:10 to 18:00, while from Cai Vieng Ferry Terminal, which is located just one stop from the cable car station, buses depart from 06:00 to 19:00. Bus departures are scheduled every 30-35 minutes, even if on public holidays the frequency sometimes is increased. It can take up to 1 hour to get from the town to the cable car station by bus.
